Fresh out of college, founder of
Truckers Dispatch Office, Joe Myers was taught how to drive a truck by his
Uncle, then owner of H & H leasing. Eventually his
skills were put to the test when he was positioned to
help drive for his uncle due to a diagnosed heart
condition. Originally going to school for property
management/real estate, he quickly found his heart in
trucking. In early 1994, he took on a dispatching
position with D.E. Johnson. Myers was easily booking 30
loads a day.
With his obsession with trucking
growing rapidly, Myers took the fast lane into starting
up his own company (1995). He began by taking over
leases for two trucks, which he then leased in with
Eagle Warehouse/Gasel Transportation. By 1997, Myers had
expanded to being the owner of 19 trucks which he
dedicated to Petsmart and Colgate Palmolive. Between
1995 and 1997 Myers become a single parent. This caused
him to gradually move into the right lane, and
eventually stop driving. But for Joe, the trip didn’t
end there. He took the bull by its horns and kept on his
trucks rollen. He dispatched his own fleet for the next
nine years. Although his heart was always in the
trucking industry, a new leaf had turned for Myers. He
decided to give up his 12 year old company and trade it
in for a new baby girl. In September of 2006 Myers sold
his company to a young man out of
Chicago, Illinois, who was in the same position Joe
was in 12 years ago.
In late 2007, after
taking a year off, Myers once again decided to stay in
the trucking industry as a consultant. This is where
Truckers Dispatch Office was born.
The philosophy of
Truckers Dispatch Office is to help assist small
trucking companies cope with the rising costs of
operating one’s own company. We do this by finding
freight at a low cost for the owner/operator. With his
12 years of experience, Joe
Myers
plans to lead his clients in the right direction by
treating each of one as if they were his own.
